Reverse Gold Leaf Gilded Window Sign for Adriano Carbone, The Block Arcade
I did my first Sign Writing and Gold Leaf Gilding job in The Block Arcade 19 years ago.
One of my regular customers artist David Bromley, requested his new outlet BROMLEY & Co. to be sign written using Gold leaf. While I was doing the work for David, the centre manager Grant Cohen introduced himself and after a coffee or two, “Adriano Carbone’s” new gold gilded sign was born.
The first photo shows what the leaf looks like when initially applied using a water gild method.

Then burnishing is necessary which takes considerable skill. Shown is the finished Hand lettered 24 karat Gold Leaf Sign.
